Through the book of Judges we will need to concentrate on three ideas: 1) How do I make sense of the book of Judges? 2) What is God saying to us in Judges? and 3)Are you open to the life changing lessons in the book of Judges?

As we continue through the book of Judges, we learn why half-hearted obedience is costly, that we need to learn from our mistakes and that God shows us grace in action as He comes to our rescue.

In chapters 4-5 of Judges, we learn how God is a Warrior who delights to deliver His people in unexpected ways, and that He cares about the details of our lives! Is your God amazing, and do you know that He cares about the details of your life?

As we continue through the book of Judges and our series God in the Wasteland, we find out that God has a purpose...but our fears often get in the way. We also learn that God exposes those fears and will overcome them with His power...sometimes in very surprising ways.

But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

GOD SOMETIMES USES FLAWED PEOPLE FOR HIS MISSION We can easily find ourselves putting too much confidence in our own strengths. The Apostle Paul confessed that he was tempted to do that in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Judges 17:6 “In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” DESIGNER RELIGIONS ARE ATTRACTIVE BUT EMPTY (Judges 17-18). Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Israels History is conflict and horror. "Everyone did what was right in his own eyes" - Judges 21:25 Through Christ we find that there is hope in the midst of darkness!
